Author and politician Thanedar noted the significant development on August 6th when Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned from office and fled to India, leaving Bangladesh in a state of disarray with the military assuming control of the country.
After Hasina resigned yesterday, India has granted her interim stay and logistical support as she seeks asylum in UK later.
The Bangladesh’s prime minister was reported to have landed in Agartala, Tripura, according to media sources. The escalation of violence has been described as some of the worst since Bangladesh's independence more than five decades ago.
