Union Finance and Corporate Affairs minister Nirmala Sitharaman was admitted into the old private ward of the medicine department of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi.
The 63-year-old, who was admitted at around noon, is suffering from a mild fever.
Sources told The New Indian that the Union minister’s condition is stable. It is a routine checkup. She is being given the best medical care and will be discharged soon.
On Sunday, Sitharaman paid floral tributes to the former prime minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, on his birth anniversary at the ‘Sadaiv Atal’ memorial in New Delhi. Earlier on Saturday, the Union minister attended the 35th annual convocation of the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University in Chennai.
