NEW DELHI: Hours after The New Indian  exposed the alleged harassment of a 15-year-old class X student at Army Public School, leading to his suicide, the Delhi Police has registered an FIR of abbettment to suicide against the school administration.

Although no one has been named in the FIR, the complaint by the parents mention the names of the faculty who allegedly refused to issue an admit card for the exams.

Speaking with The New Indian, Rohit Meena, the DCP of South West Delhi said that FIR was lodged and they will summon school Principal Malini Narayan and teacher Radhika to join the investigation,

“I was at my Unit in Sena Bhawan when my wife received a call on her mobile phone from Radhika, the English teacher of my son Dhiraj. She told us that our son would not be given admit card for the exams and we should come to school to visit them. When we visited, we were asked to deposit Rs 10,000 as a fine for a chair my son had allegedly broken accidentally. We were shocked,” Hawaldar Sunil, told The New Indian who has narrated his ordeal in the FIR.

A retired Army officer, Colonel Mukul, who had come to Hawaldar Sunil’s assistance following the tragedy, attacked leading national daily The Times of India, for trying to colour the probe and defend the school administration.

On Saturday evening, parents and students assembled outside the school premises and staged a protest against the administration. They also shouted slogans against the school administration. They said that due to harassment a young student lost his life.

Mukul praises The New Indian and Senior Assistant Editor Atul Krishan for exposing the truth in the suicide case

“I have lost all hope of getting any justice now since the Father of the deceased child has  been “Managed” by the Army yesterday evening. However, I cannot blame the Father since he is a serving Soldier who can be easily “manipulated” by his Superiors,” Mukul Posted on X.

He, further said, “Unlike the Paid TOI, the New Indian, really came to the assistance of the family, it was due to Mr Atul Krishnan and his team that things could be exposed properly. My compliments to them….”

Colonel Mukul, shares the video of TNI on ‘X’ and expresses concern over the ‘manipulation’ of the deceased child’s father by his superiors

Sunil, the father of the student also accuset the school principal of lying to the media that she attended the last rite of his son in UP.

“The cremation was performed in Haryana not in UP and I was amazed as to why she was lying before the media when she didn’t attend the funeral,” said Sunil.
