Preliminary inquiries suggest the heroin was trafficked from Pakistan, linked to an organized cross-border drug network. The SSP confirmed that J&K Police is actively tracing the origins and distribution channels to dismantle the syndicate and identify all accomplices involved in the illegal trade.
This year alone, Srinagar Police has registered 96 cases under the NDPS Act, detaining 162 individuals and booking 27 others under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act.
