MUMBAI: A special court here on Thursday extended the judicial custody of eight accused in the drugs-on-cruise case, including Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, till October 30.

Lawyers of Aryan Khan and two other accused had filed a bail application at the Bombay High Court on Wednesday which will listen to the matter on October 26.

The 23-year-old’s bail plea was rejected by a special NDPS court following which his lawyers had moved the Bombay High Court.

Aryan Khan was arrested on October 3 along with seven others, a day after the NCB raided a luxury cruise ship in Mumbai.

Earlier in the day, Ananya Panday appeared before the NCB officials here to record her statement. She was accompanied by her father Chunky Panday. She came to CB office after a team of NCB officials served her summons at her residence here asking to appear before the agency at 2 p.m.

The actor left from the NCB office after her statement was recorded for over two hours.

An NCB official wishing not to be named told The New Indian:

We called Ananya Panday as we wanted some clarification from her. We recorded her statement and also asked her to come again tomorrow at 11 am

Meanwhile, an NCB source said that the NCB questioned her over her alleged WhatsApp chats with one of the accused in the high-profile drugs-on-cruise case.

The source said that the drug-law enforcement agency has also seized the mobile phone, laptop and other electronic gazette of Ananya Panday and they will be sending it for forensic test.

On the other hand, another team of the NCB officials also arrived at the residence of Shah Rukh Khan.

NCB’s Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede in a statement said, “A team of NCB Mumbai Zonal Unit officials visited Mannat, the residence of Aryan Khan in connection with the drugs case for seeking certain material related to the investigation of the case from Shah Rukh Khan by following due procedure of notice etc.”

Wankhede also clarified that there was no searches or raids at the residence of Shah Rukh Khan.

Even Shah Rukh Khan visited his son Aryan Khan at the Arthur Road Prison this morning after physical meeting was allowed. He met his son for over 20 minutes at the Arthur Road Jail after getting permission from the jail authorities.
