Soren Vows To Make Jharkhand Leading State, Seeks Centre’s Support

RANCHI (JHARKHAND): Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 25 crucial development projects worth Rs 16,835 crores in Deoghar on Tuesday. Chief Minister Hemant Soren was present on the occasion.

The prime minister dedicated to the nation 13 projects worth Rs 10,270 crores including Deoghar Airport, Deoghar AIIMS, and development projects for Baba Dham, as per the chief minister’s office.

He also laid the foundation stone of 12 development projects, including for redevelopment of the Ranchi railway station and an elevated corridor in the city. Rs 6,565 crore will be spent on these projects.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Modi said that these projects will accelerate the pace of development not just in Jharkhand, but also across North India. “These projects will make the life of people living in this region easier and will create new opportunities in several areas,” he told a gathering.

“While the start of the air service from Deoghar will make it easier for devotees from all over the country and abroad to come and pay obeisance to Baba Baidyanath, the Deoghar AIIMS will provide better health facilities to patients from Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal,” he said.

Addressing the gathering, chief minister Soren vowed to make Jharkhand a progressive state in the next 5-7 years and sought the support of the Central government for this endeavour.

The chief minister said that the labourers of Jharkhand play a major role in the development of the nation. “Today, when we are celebrating the commencement of a flight from Deoghar, we must not forget that 300 people have given their land for this airport,” he added.
