NEW DELHI: Renowned singer Sonu Nigam is under fire once again, this time for a scathing Instagram video in which he criticized Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. Nigam accused the Rajasthan government of neglecting artists and failing to support the entertainment industry, despite the state’s reputation for its rich cultural heritage. His comments, however, have sparked a backlash from both fans and the general public.
Nigam alleged that artists in Rajasthan face systemic neglect and called on the state to address their grievances. While some fans agreed with his points, the tone of his video left many unimpressed. While ashwaniuma argued that artists should stay neutral and not engage in politics. Others were more direct aapka_apna_deepak_mehta told BJP leader @bjpbhajanlal to understand Nigam’s flawed perspective.
Another User rajshekhardixit reminded followers of Nigam’s past closeness to Modi, calling him a “Chamcha” expressing frustration.
Legal expert adv.raj.jain questioned whether the CM should ignore emergencies based on an artist’s opinion, while rahulbirari18 criticized Nigam for his arrogance, pointing out that Sharma has far more important duties than seeking permission from artists.
The public’s reaction to Nigam’s Rajasthan comments has been far from supportive. Many users pointed out that his statements lacked nuance and seemed overly harsh. Others questioned why Nigam continually finds himself in controversies, suggesting his approach often undermines the legitimacy of the issues he raises.
