Soldiers, Civilians Injured In Anti-Terror Op In Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Three soldiers and a civilian were injured in an ongoing anti-terror operation in the Anantnag district of south Kashmir.

The encounter between security forces and terrorists broke out on Friday evening in the Rishipora area of Anantnag where two terrorists are stated to be trapped.

“#AnantnagEncounterUpdate: In the initial exchange of fire, three army personnel & one civilian got injured. All the injured were immediately airlifted to 92 base hospital #Srinagar for treatment & are stated to be stable. #Operation going on (sic),” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.

Police said injuries were inflicted in the initial exchange of fire. The intermittent firing was going on when this report was being filed.

Two migrant labourers injured

Two non-local labourers were injured in a grenade blast in the Shopian district of south Kashmir Friday evening.

“#Terrorists lobbed a #grenade at Aglar Zainapora area of #Shopian, resulting in minor injuries to 02 outside labourers. Area has been cordoned off. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice (sic),” Kashmir Zone Police said in a tweet.

The incident came a day after terrorists killed a migrant worker while injuring another in a terror attack in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday.
