Sikkim Cop Shoots Dead Three Colleagues In Delhi

NEW DELHI: Three security personnel belonging to the Sikkim Police were shot dead by their colleague in Rohini’s Haiderpur Water Treatment Plant on Monday.

All four were deployed in the plant for the past few months. The accused personnel later surrendered himself before the local police.

Police said they were investigating the case to ascertain the reason for the bloodbath.

A PCR call was received by police in the afternoon. “Upon reaching the spot, it was found that three persons belonging to Sikkim Police had been shot at of which two were dead on the spot and one was critically wounded and transferred to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital, who was also declared brought dead,” the police said.

The accused was found to be Lance Naik Prabin Rai, 32, belonging to Sikkim Police, the police said.

During interrogation he told police that at around 3 pm he opened fire at three other personnel – Commander Pinto Namgyal Bhutia and two constables Dhanghang Subba and Indra Lal Chettri at Haiderpur Water Treatment Plant Barrack.

Police said the reason for the firing was yet to be established. It was said Rai was under depression for the past few days and he fought over an issue with his colleagues following which he shot them dead.
