SRINAGAR: The State Investigtion Agency of the Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted the second round of searches at 10 locations in Srinagar, Pulwama and Anantnag districts, seizing incriminating gadgets and documents, on Friday.
A statement issued by the SIA said, “In continuation to searches conducted on 08.11.2023 , State Investigation agency Kashmir conducted searches at multiple locations falling in district Srinagar (two locations). Pulwama (seven locations) and Anantnag (one location). The searches were conducted in the wee hours as part of ongoing investigation in case FIR No. 08/2023 of Police Station SIA Kashmir. It is pertinent to mention that this is a terror funding case in which money amounting to 85 crores has been raised and laundered through covert channels which is suspected to be used in funding terrorism and secessionism in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir.
This operation marks the second round of searches in this case as the SIA already conducted extensive searches on Wednesday in New Delhi and numerous districts of the Kashmir valley.
The raids conducted on Wednesday included the premises of a serving police officer and a leading businessperson. The special teams have recovered incriminating evidence in electronic gadgets like mobile devices , laptops, SIM cards and documents like, passports, chequebooks, passbooks, and credit/debit cards.
SIA’s continued raids have taken place in order to dismantle the roots of terror-funding in the valley. Security experts have said that after a dormant three decades, these raids have started reverberating with profound impact across the populace. A clear message resonates: no crime, no act of involvement shall escape the pursuit of justice. In contrast, the LG Manoj Sinha led administration and J&K Police has demonstrated an unswerving resolve, drawing a resolute line in the sand—a commitment to success.
A senior police official of the SIA while talking to The New Indian said, “J&K shall no longer cower before terror and subterfuge. Sacrifices have been met with unyielding determination.”
The official added that the SIA’s clarion call had started resounding through their motto, “Never shall the region be left to the mercy of terror. The resolve is unambiguous”.
