NOIDA: While Shrikant Tyagi, the key accused in the case of misbehaving with a woman in Noida, is on the run, at least six of his men entered the Grand Omaxe Society in the evening. They created a ruckus before being cornered by the residents of the society and handed over to the police.

In a video that went viral, Shrikant Tyagi was seen arguing with a woman resident of the society over planting trees in a common area. Following a complaint from the woman resident, the Noida police registered a case of molestation on August 5.

On Saturday, the residents of the society complained that Tyagi is a connected man due to which he is able to keep himself away from the Uttar Pradesh police.

“It has been more than 48 hours and Tyagi is still not arrested. Today, a few of his goons came and argued with us. They are now taken away by the police,” an RWA member, Mahima Joshi, told The New Indian, adding, “But residents now feel insecure.”

At about 7 pm, over half a dozen youths entered the society and they met Tyagi’s wife and two sons. Later, they started arguing with the neighbours. Soon more residents gathered and a PCR call was made.

A team of police arrived and they managed to pacify the situation. Some of the residents claim that the supporters of Tyagi created a ruckus and pelted stones at them.

Ankita Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Noida, also reached the spot and said all six people were detained and questioned. She also stated that they would face legal action.
