NEW DELHI: Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi on Thursday met the family members of slain Kashmiri Pandits Rajni Bala and Rahul Bhat. She also said that Sena is committed to speaking for them and demanded security for those who are working in the valley.
Chaturvedi, who is also the spokesperson of the Shiv Sena in a series of tweets said, “Met the family members of Rahul Bhat today at their home in Jammu. Shiv Sena is committed to speaking for them, ensuring justice is done and demanding the safety and security of those who are working in the valley and now fear the spate of targeted killings.”
She also attached her photographs with her wife of Bhat.
In another tweet, the Shiv Sena leader said, “Met Raj Kumar Atri, husband of Late Rajni Balaji who was a victim of targeted killing in Kashmir. Was heartbreaking to meet her young daughter who is still coming to terms with the loss. Hope Hon. Lt. Governor ensures that their demands are met.”
Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandit who was working as a clerk, was shot dead by the terrorists in targeted killings against the minority Hindu community last month.
Similarly, Bala who returned to the valley after 27 years, was killed by terrorists last week at the very school where she was a teacher.
The incidents triggered massive outrage among the Kashmiri Pandit community. Many Kashmiri Hindus also announced their plans to leave the Valley citing an unsafe environment.
