Shashank became a fan favorite with his match-winning innings, including a stunning 61 off 29 balls* against Gujarat Titans. His ability to handle pressure and deliver in crucial moments helped Punjab Kings secure key victories.

 

โ€œI had no idea Google releases such a list. Itโ€™s a big thing. I prefer celebrating in solitude, but deep inside, it feels good knowing people are searching for me,โ€ he said.

Shashank credited Punjab Kings for his rise in popularity. โ€œIt has been possible because of Punjab Kings. There are many talented cricketers, but this franchise showed trust in me and backed me at every step,โ€ he added.

 

Excited to Reunite with Old Teammates

 

Shashank, retained by Punjab Kings for IPL 2025, is eager to reunite with Shreyas Iyer and Suryansh Shedge. Both were his teammates in the DY Patil T20 Cup, and he is excited to share the dressing room with them again.

 

โ€œI have played with Shreyas since junior cricket and in the DY Patil T20 Cup. We share a great bond, and Iโ€™m looking forward to playing under his captaincy,โ€ he said.

 

He also praised Suryansh Shedge. โ€œSuryansh is a bright prospect. He has great potential, and Iโ€™m happy to be playing alongside him again,โ€ he added.

Punjab Kings will start their IPL 2025 campaign against Gujarat Titans on March 25 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
