The Bangtan Boys, popularly known as BTS, have garnered immense popularity not only in South Korea but also in America and India. The BTS Army, their dedicated fanbase, is widespread and deeply immersed in their music. However, prior to joining BTS, Jimin faced a challenging time during his school days, being a victim of bullying and it was V, who had then come to his rescue.
Jimin officially joined the group in early 2012, and the commonly accepted date for his move into the dorm is in May of that year. He often mentions that he underwent a year of training before joining BTS. Interestingly, Jimin and V were close friends before they became bandmates. Both of them were transferred to new high schools in their second year.
Due to Jimin’s Busan accent, he became a target of mockery from some of his classmates in Seoul. Thankfully, V stood by Jimin’s side during this difficult period, offering support and friendship. Their bond deepened, and they became inseparable friends. In fact, V expressed the strength of their friendship in a heartfelt letter to Jimin.
In a touching moment on their show “Bon Voyage,” V read a heartfelt letter to Jimin. In the letter, V revealed that he had praised Jimin in front of Big Hit executives who were initially hesitant to include him in the band. V expressed, “Before our debut, you once felt anxious about it. During a meeting with the company, they asked me about my thoughts on you being part of the team.
Reflecting on our shared experiences, the ups and downs, I spoke about how you were there for me—laughing and crying together. I conveyed that it would be wonderful if such a good friend could debut with me. Saying those words felt right, and I was delighted to debut with you.”
V’s letter also included heartfelt sentiments, saying, “When I cry in the bathroom, you’re there to cry with me. You come at dawn to laugh with me. You care about me and keep me in your thoughts. I love you, buddy.” This emotional letter moved Jimin to tears.
In response, Jimin expressed his gratitude, saying, “I don’t know what others might think. I actually learn a lot from him. He makes me feel good and often touches my heart. That’s when I’m grateful to have Taehyung as my friend. So, I want to say I’m grateful.”
