CHANDIGARH/NEW DELHI: A second viral clip, allegedly involving an IPS, has kicked a fresh row in Punjab suggesting that a policewoman could have been implored to be drawn into an awkward and objectionable conversation.

This even as The New Indian has now accessed that a 7-page complaint, marked to the Indian authorities and Punjab Police complaints authority (SPCA), chief secretary in Punjab and Punjab women commission.
The New Indian is withholding the identity of the IPS officer, mentioned in the complaint, at this stage.
โThis complaint is by me and on behalf of all the people of Punjab, especially the women, voiceless and the poorest of poor, who pay taxes so that the government can function in accordance with constitutional valuesโฆ.That the serving IPS officer, holding a senior position in police forceโฆ.XXX (name being withheld), appears to be both aware of and actively engaged in the organised sex trade. That the officer demonstrates the capacity and willingness to spend approximately INR 50,000 for a single 3-4 hour engagement involving paid sexual services, suggesting access to unaccounted and disproportionate financial resourcesโ the complaint states.
As a responsible media, The New Indian has tried best to bring these clips to the knowledge of AAP leaders in Delhi and Punjab as well as top cops of Punjab Police, including DGP Gaurav Yadav apart from the government offices of Indiaโs ministry of home affairs, (MHA) and department of personnel and training (DoPT), that manages the cadre posting, empanelment and 360-degrees evaluation of cops, invoking sharp reactions from everywhere.
These revelations are coming at a time when a sensational operation by Bathinda SSP Avneet Kondal, a 2012-a batch regular recruit (RR) IPS has put a clear and categorical spotlight on the arrest of a female constable Amandeep Kaur caught with drugs while she and a private citizen Gurpreet Kaur threatened to point out at the role of a male IPS. The male IPS is believed to have had direct daily conversation with Kaur, according to Punjab Police sleuths.
โA pen drive containing messages and photographs after she (Amandeep) screamed were sent to Punjab DGP office. We donโt know yet what happened after that,โ said a senior Punjab Police official.
Several police transfers have happened in the state and these incidents including grenade attack on former minister Manoranjan Kalia, RPG attack in Amritsar, albeit separate, have already caused anxiety in both MHA and government circles of Punjab on attempts being made to circumvent the probe on narco-terrorism, said officials in Delhi.
โThese matters are being discussed in high priority in home ministry as well as DoPT. We are trying to go to bottom of this. We are observing the action by Punjab government and Punjab Police. For us, stateโs safety and security is paramount. We have credible inputs that the same officer was also earlier honey-trapped by a Pakistan woman. But this time charges are serious. We are maintaining a close-look on everybody involved there,: said a senior intelligence official in Delhi.
