NEW DELHI: Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh paid their final respects to former CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury on Saturday at the CPI(M) office in Delhi, where Yechury’s mortal remains were kept.

Honouring him as a towering figure in Indian politics, the AAP leaders expressed their grief, acknowledging the immense void left by his passing. Manish Sisodia, former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, reflected on Yechury’s legacy, stating, “Sitaram Yechury was a great leader for the nation. He had a deep understanding of the country’s issues and solutions, always uniting people who could resolve them successfully. Throughout his long political career, he served the nation selflessly.”

Sisodia also noted the personal warmth Yechury extended during their interactions, highlighting the national and personal memories shared with him. He added, “The entire country will remember him, and the void left by his passing cannot be filled. Today, the whole nation feels his absence.”

Echoing similar sentiments, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh emphasized Yechury’s contributions to both the nation and the INDIA alliance, calling his death an irreparable loss.

“Sitaram Yechury was a warrior who fought against the politics of hatred throughout his life. He always raised his voice for farmers, workers, and the marginalized,” Singh stated.

In a heartfelt tribute, Singh said, “I bow my head and offer my ‘lal salaam’ to Comrade Sitaram Yechury. His legacy will continue in the voice of every oppressed person and every fight against injustice.”

The AAP leaders, along with other party members, conveyed their condolences to Yechury’s family and supporters, recognizing his lifelong commitment to fighting for social justice and equality.
