NEW DELHI: Satellite images released by Planet Labs PBC on Wednesday showed flooding in north of Kyiv, which analysts believe, was done intentionally by the Ukrainian troops to stop the advance of Russian soldiers last week.
The images were captured by Dove satellites on February 22 and February 28. Russian troops started invading the former Soviet state on February 24, weeks after negotiations with the United States and the West over Russia’s “security concerns” failed to illicit any positive results.
Another satellite imagery of Planet Labs showed a large number of suspected Russian and Belarussian helicopters on the flight line at Machulishchy air base outside Minsk, Belarus. The image was captured by Planet Labs’s SkySat on Tuesday.
In an another satellite images of Planet Labs, a Moldovan Flag Vessel can be seen burning in the Black Sea after an alleged missile attack. Media reports suggest the chemical tanker carrying 600 tons of diesel was attacked by Russian missiles on February 25, 2022.
Another satellite image captured on March 7, 2022 shows a yacht that appears to match the design of the superyacht Nord, floating in the channel between the Seychelles islands of Mahé (upper right) and Thérèse (lower left). After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the United States and allies have targetted foreign assets of Russian oligarchs.
