NEW DELHI: Prabhas’ latest movie ‘Salaar’ continues its impressive run at the domestic box office. As the new year festivities took place on Monday, the movie achieved notable progress, approaching the highly anticipated milestone of Rs 400 crore in India.

Despite experiencing a dip in collections during weekdays, ‘Salaar’ regained momentum over the lucrative new year weekend.

On its 11th day, ‘Salaar’ amassed Rs 15.5 crore, bringing the total net collection in India to an impressive Rs 360.77 crore.

The Telugu version remained the primary contributor, boasting a substantial 48.75 per occupancy, followed by the Hindi version at 28.03 per cent, Tamil at 20.26 per cent, and Malayalam at 16.32 per cent on Monday.

Internationally, ‘Salaar’ has grossed a staggering Rs 625 crore worldwide, according to Hombale Films. It stands just Rs 25 crore short of surpassing the first ‘Baahubali’s global collection of Rs 650 crore.

Notably, ‘Salaar’ has already outperformed Vijay’s ‘Leo’ and surpassed the lifetime global earnings of Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer’, securing its position as the fifth-highest-grossing Indian film of 2023.

However, surpassing the Rs 1,100 crore-plus haul of ‘Jawan’ may pose a challenge. While ‘Jawan’ raked in Rs 389.88 crore in its first week, ‘Salaar’s collection amounted to Rs 308 crore. Prabhas’ movie only managed to surpass the opening day record of Atlee’s action film by earning Rs 90.7 crore.
