DDCA President Rohan Jaitley accompanied by the Apex Council, addressed the media in a press conference at the DDCA Lounge, Arun Jaitley Stadium.
NEW DELHI: Fresh from his victory in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) Presidential elections, Rohan Jaitley, accompanied by the Apex Council, addressed the media in a press conference at the DDCA Lounge, Arun Jaitley Stadium. The event outlined Jaitley’s vision for the DDCA while addressing controversies surrounding his tenure.
Responding to allegations against him and the DDCA, Jaitley emphasized the association’s commitment to maintaining transparency. “Our role is to look into any problems related to team selection. We’ve been playing well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT), and other issues will be resolved in due course,” he said, showcasing optimism about Delhi’s senior cricket team.

One of the key highlights of the press meet was Jaitley’s announcement on club voting rights. He clarified that the DDCA, functioning as a corporate entity, grants memberships to individuals rather than to the organization itself. “The process and procedures for clubs to get voting rights are being developed, and we aim to implement them transparently,” he added.
Club funding, another contentious issue, saw further elaboration. “Funding to clubs has been enhanced, and based on the club’s initiatives, we plan to provide them with assets beyond monetary assistance,” Jaitley said, indicating a shift toward a more resource-oriented funding model.
He also addressed concerns regarding media accreditation, a process managed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). “Limited seating at many venues causes constraints, but media personnel can always inform us. We are ready to assist wherever possible,” he assured, signaling his intent to improve the working conditions for journalists.

Amid the controversies and operational challenges, Jaitley struck a confident tone about the DDCA’s progress. “The association has made strides in several areas, and we are focused on further reforms to streamline operations, enhance facilities, and foster better governance,” he said.
The press conference showcased Jaitley’s efforts to navigate DDCA’s ongoing challenges while planning for its future. As cricket remains a passion for millions in Delhi, his tenure will undoubtedly be under close scrutiny. Whether his promises translate into actionable changes remains to be seen.
