Restaurants, Pubs To Stay Shut In Delhi; Pvt Offices To Switch To Work From Home

NEW DELHI: In the wake of rising COVID cases in the state the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has decided to shut down restaurants and Pubs in Delhi. DDMA has also decided that all the private offices should work from home.

DDMA said that, ”DDMA is satisfied that the NCT of Delhi has taken effective measures to prevent its spread (of Covid) and has issued various orders/instructions from time to time to all authorities concerned to take all required measures to appropriately deal with the situation on NCT of Delhi”.

NCT of Delhi recorded more than 19,166 cases on Monday as compared to 22,751 on Sunday. One in four people tested in Delhi was found to be positive for covid.

The notice issued by DDMA read that, “All Private offices shall be closed, except those which are falling under the “Exempted Category” as prescribed in DDMA’s GRAPOrder No. 460 dated 08 August 2021. The practice of work from home shall be followed. All Restaurants & Bars shall be closed. However, restaurants will be allowed only for home delivery/takeaway of food items.

The National Capital has not reported any case of the omicron variant for the past two days now, maintaining a tally of 513 cases so far as per the data shared by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday.

State Governments Across India Have Imposed Strict Restrictions In Concern Of Rising Cases.

Tamil Nadu government also decided to extend the COVID restrictions in the state till January 31 in concern of massive surge in omicron cases. The night curfew will continue in the state till 31 January.

Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai also ruled out easing restrictions at places with less positivity rate. CM Bommai also tested positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms.

Kerala also has limited the number of attendees at weddings and funerals to 50 people. Precautions including physical distancing should be taken when conducting events with physical attendance.

The Andhra Pradesh government has also announced strict restrictions in the state amid a rise in increasing infections. The government has also imposed a night curfew from 11 pm to 5 am. Markets will be closed if any covid violation is reported.

The Maharashtra government has revised restrictions. The Maharashtra government has allowed beauty salons and gymnasiums to operate with 50 percent capacity and only allows those who are fully vaccinated. The revised guidelines came less than 24 hours after it ordered beauty salons and gymnasiums to shut along.

Delhi Government To Start Yoga Classes For COVID Patients In Isolation: Arvind Kejriwal

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said that the Delhi Government will start Yoga classes for covid patients in isolation from Wednesday. CM said “The Speed of spread of Covid cases in Delhi has slowed over the past few days. I hope this trend continues. We are starting a new programe for patients under home isolations”.

Yoga and pranayama help improve the body’s immunity and strength. We are starting online classes for these people. Special instructors are being trained for Yoga asana that will help covid patients.
