NEW DELHI: In a heartwarming moment at the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2025, veteran actor Ravi Kishan bagged the award for Best Supporting Role (Male) for his stellar performance in Laapataa Ladies. The recognition marked a significant milestone in the actor’s career, who has contributed to over 750 films across regional and Bollywood industries.
The announcement was made by Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan, who declared, “Award for performance in a supporting role male goes to Ravi Kishan for Laapataa Ladies.”
As Ravi Kishan took to the stage, emotions ran high. “This is the first time I have come on the stage of IIFA. I am speechless because I have acted in so many films from regional to 750 films but I have never won at IIFA. It’s a long journey as I said earlier. People come walking and I have come up crawling,” said Kishan, reflecting on his long and challenging journey in the entertainment industry.
In an emotional tribute to his family, Ravi Kishan expressed gratitude to his wife, saying, “I would like to thank Preeti for being my wife. She believed in me when I had nothing.”
When Kishan jokingly asked if his speech was too long, Kartik Aaryan stepped in to reassure him. “No, not at all! You deserve it, sir. There is no buzzer here. No one will play music here,” Kartik said warmly. Karan Johar added, “You can say whatever you want.”
Overwhelmed with emotion, Ravi Kishan concluded his speech by releasing years of pent-up feelings. “There is a lot of pain, let it go. There are a lot of years of pain. Now I won’t say Zindagi Jhandba. Now I will say Zindagi Bam bam ba! Hara Hara Mahadev!”
