NEW DELHI: Ranveer Singh’s controversial nude photoshoot, which generated significant attention last year, has once more become a topic of discussion. This time, it is featured in Sufjan Stevens’ most recent album, ‘Javelin.’
A few days ago, he posted on Instagram, acknowledging that ‘Javelin’ is a tribute to his late ‘beloved’ partner Evan Richardson, who sadly passed away in April. Stevens discussed the themes of heartbreak and anguish in his post.
He wrote, “This album is dedicated to the light of my life, my beloved partner and best friend Evans Richardson who passed away in April. He was an absolute gem of person full of life, love, laughter, curiosity, integrity and joy. He was one of those rare and beautiful ones you find only once in a lifetime -precious impeccable, and absolutely exceptional in every manner”.

Reacting to the post, one user commented on Youtube wrote “I never thought I would see Ranveer Singh in a Sufjan Stevens song. Beautiful song tho”. Another user wrote “I WAS NOT EXPECTING RANVEER SINGH OUT OF EVERYTHING “.
while a third remarked “first osho and now ranveer in sufjan song reference”.
Last year, Ranveer Singh’s widely circulated nude photo series for Paper magazine had caused quite a stir. The actor’s photoshoot for the magazine paid homage to the 1970s pop icon Burt Reynolds, who famously posed nude for a Cosmopolitan magazine shoot in 1972.
Nonetheless, this particular photoshoot had Ranveer in legal soup, as he was interrogated by the Mumbai Police following a complaint of obscenity filed by an NGO and women’s rights activists. The complaint pertained to his posting of a nude image of himself on Instagram, resulting in charges under IPC sections 292, 293, 509, and the IT Act.
In response to these allegations, Ranveer asserted that one of the photos from the magazine spread had been manipulated and altered.
