Rajkummar Rao discusses pushing limits for challenging roles

NEW DELHI: Giving one more phenomenal example of his versatility, actor Rajkumar Rao is ready with his much-awaited movie “Srikanth,” The actor has shared insights into his portrayal of the visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla and his relentless pursuit of challenging roles in an interview with PTI.

In the movie directed by Tushar Hiranandani, Rajkummar for the first time has stepped into the shoes of Srikanth Bolla, a real-life inspiration who defied odds and carved his path to success despite his visual impairment. Speaking about his role, Rajkummar expressed his excitement and admitted to feeling both scared and exhilarated by the prospect of portraying such a unique character. He said that he loves challenges and something that scares and excites him even and ‘Srikanth’ is one such film.

The actor, known for his dedication and versatility, disclosed his approach to selecting roles, emphasising his commitment to immersing himself fully into the character and story of each project. He said that he does not plan things, his dream role is the character played by him and that becomes important for him.

Reflecting on his journey from his debut in “Love Sex Aur Dhokha” to his critically acclaimed performances in films like “Shahid,” “Trapped,” “Newton,” and “Stree,” Rajkummar expressed gratitude for the opportunities that have come his way and highlighted his hunger for more challenging characters. He further added that he has more hunger and fire as an actor and will be welcoming more challenging characters.

Acknowledging the responsibility of portraying real-life characters, Rajkummar stressed the importance of hitting the right notes and doing justice to the roles he undertakes. “Srikanth,” is scheduled to be released on May 10, the film promises to be a tale of determination and resilience, with Rajkummar Rao in the lead role with other actors like Alaya F, Jyotika, and Sharad Kelkar.
