NEW DELHI: Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar expressed deep sorrow and anger over the tragic incident involving Siddharth, a student of Pookode Veterinary College, Wayanad, who took his own life. The incident occurred in Rahul Gandhi’s constituency.
Chandrasekhar criticized Rahul Gandhi’s decision to continue his political journey instead of prioritizing the safety and well-being of the constituents, particularly students. In an exclusive conversation with The New Indian, the Minister said, “All this is not simple ragging but more to it. It’s from the constituency of Rahul Gandhi who otherwise comments about jungle raj and goes around the country for todo yatra.
Young students should be optimistically looking after their lives instead of getting killed violently. I feel sad for his family and friends. I beg the CM to stop violence in the state.” He urged Gandhi to halt his Yatra and focus on addressing the pressing issues within his constituency, emphasizing the need for immediate action to prevent such incidents in the future.

In his scathing remarks against Rahul Gandhi, Chandrasekhar accused him of falsehoods and hypocrisy, particularly in his portrayal of governance issues in states like West Bengal and Kerala. He called for an end to what he described as a parasitic culture in politics and asserted the electorate’s resolve to demand accountability in the upcoming elections.

“Kerala needs change – we don’t want such violence, we want economic growth and so on… We have to provide a safe environment for our students to study ahead… For the government, CPM and other parties’ lives do not matter… Unless and until their political objectives are met…”
Chandrasekhar reiterated the demand for change, emphasizing the rejection of violence and the pursuit of a better, safer environment for the people of Kerala. J. S. Siddharth, 20, a second-year Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry student, was found hanging in the hostel bathroom on February 18.
