NEW DELHI: Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh has sharply criticized Rahul Gandhi over his tweet on the Hindenburg report, accusing him of harming the nation.

Singh has described the Leader of the Opposition Gandhi as an “enemy of the country” who spreads confusion among people. “Rahul Gandhi creates confusion; he is the enemy of the country. When he (Rahul Gandhi) goes abroad, he does the same, and in our country as well, he does the same. He is a traitor,” Singh said while attending a Handloom expo at Janpath, Delhi

Following the release of a critical Hindenburg report, Rahul Gandhi on Sunday, Aug 11, expressed concerns about the integrity of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) amid allegations outlined in the new Hindenburg report.

In a video message via X (formerly known as Twitter), Gandhi questions: ‘First, why has SEBI Chief Madhvi Buch not resigned yet? Second, who will take responsibility if something goes wrong and investors lose money? Third, will the Supreme Court take suo motu cognizance of the issues raised?”

The Hindenburg report, released late Saturday by the American research and investment firm, cast doubt on SEBI’s reluctance to take action against the Adani Group. It suggested that SEBI Chairperson Madhvi Buch and her husband, Dhaval Buch, might have a conflict of interest due to their connections with foreign funds related to Adani.

In response to Gandhi’s remarks, Giriraj Singh launched a vehement attack, saying, “Rahul Gandhi and Jairam Ramesh are the gang that defames the country. Hindenburg defames us. We won’t tolerate the defamation of our nation. They are enemies of the nation. Strictest action will be taken against Hindenburg. When outside the country, Rahul Gandhi defames the country and when within the country, he misleads and scares citizens. Citizens of the country should beware of such people. This can be the doing of traitors.”
