Rahul Gandhi heckled by banned Khalistani group SJF at US event

NEW DELHI: During an event in California, United States, Rahul Gandhi found himself facing the ire of Khalistani radicals as they heckled him. Accusing the Congress of being complicit in the 1984 Sikh genocide, these Khalistanis, who are affiliated with the banned Khalistani secessionist group Sikh For Justice (SFJ), heckled Rahul Gandhi during his Santa Clara event on Wednesday. Rahul Gandhi tried to counter the radical elements by raising the slogan of “Bharat Jodo” and “Nafrat ke bazaar me mohabbat ki dukaan.”

Soon after the incident took place, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the chief of Sikhs for Justice, shared a video on social media showcasing the visuals of the event and the Khalistani supporters protesting against the Congress leader. To add fuel to the fire, he also issued a warning, stating their intentions to heckle Prime Minister Modi during his upcoming visit to the US in June.

In an audio clip attached to the video, Pannun launched a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi, referring to him as a trader of the “Sikh genocide.” Pannun further threatened Gandhi, asserting that wherever he would travel and address the masses all over the United States, he would face such resistance from the Sikhs. In a shocking warning, Pannun extended the threat to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that he would also face similar conditions during his state visit scheduled for June 22. “Next will be Modi on June 22,” said Pannun in the audio clip, raising concerns about potential disruptions during the Prime Minister’s visit.

Rahul Gandhi’s arrival in San Francisco earlier on Tuesday marked the beginning of his three-city US tour, during which he aimed to interact with Indian expatriates and meet with American lawmakers.

During his California event Gandhi highlighted the existence of a certain group in India that perceives themselves as possessing superior knowledge, even surpassing that of God. “There is a group of people in India who believe they possess superior knowledge, even more than God. One notable example is Modi ji. If God were seated next to him, he would start explaining to God how the Universe works! It’s a funny thing. This group thinks they know everything, from science to history, warfare to aviation. However, at the heart of it lies mediocrity, as they actually lack understanding. In life, one cannot grasp anything without being open to listening. The Bharat Jodo Yatra taught me the valuable lesson that there is something to learn from everybody.”
