KALPETTA: Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination papers for the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency after leading a massive roadshow, accompanied by thousands of Congress and IUML workers and leaders. Priyanka Gandhi, AICC secretary KC Venugopal, VD Satheeshan, and other senior leaders joined him.
The roadshow, with nearly ten thousand Congress supporters and local leaders from Kozhikode and Malappuram, culminated at the collectorate, amidst a fervent wave of supporters chanting slogans.
Despite the soaring temperatures in the hilly town of Wayanad, enthusiastic crowds lined both sides of the road, cheering ‘jai jai Rahul Gandhi’ and ‘down down Narendra Modi’ as the Congress MP waved from his vehicle.

Hundreds of party workers and supporters walked alongside, in front, and at the rear of the vehicle. Notably, unlike in 2019, the supporters did not display Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) flags but instead waved Congress flags and banners of Rahul Gandhi.
Before departing for Delhi, Rahul Gandhi visited a few houses at the Malavayal tribal colony near Kalpetta. Speaking to the media after the visit, he urged all those supporting democratic and constitutional values to unite and support the Congress party.
