Following Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidential election, Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Shri Rahul Gandhi congratulated him on Twitter as a show of goodwill.

NEW DELHI: Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Shri Rahul Gandhi congratulated President Donald Trump and U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris on their respective roles in the most recent U.S. elections as a show of goodwill. Gandhi acknowledged Trump’s victory in the presidential election and praised Harris’s passionate campaign on the Indian National Congress’s (INC) official Twitter account (@INCIndia), highlighting the significance of forging close ties between the United States and India.

 

 

Gandhi’s letter to Kamala Harris highlighted her remarkable and impactful campaign, during which she broke down barriers as the first African American and South Asian woman to be elected vice president of the United States. Gandhi praised Harris’ leadership, tenacity, and unshakable dedication to social justice, economic equality, and healthcare reform in his address. Her campaign resonated not only in the United States but also in other countries, including India, since it focused on inclusivity and addressed the difficulties faced by underrepresented people.

Gandhi emphasized how her leadership marked a new era in American politics and her pioneering position as a ray of hope for women and minority communities around the world. Gandhi not only congratulated Harris but also acknowledged Donald Trump’s reelection as the president of the United States. “LoP Shri @RahulGandhi fosters global ties and friendship between India and the United States by extending warm congratulations to newly elected US President Donald Trump,” the tweet said. In addition to underlining chances for cooperation on shared interests like trade, defence, and regional security, this statement underlined the significance of maintaining solid diplomatic connections.

 

Gandhi reaffirmed India’s resolve to forge strong, long-lasting ties with the United States and its leaders notwithstanding political differences with these congrats.
