Raghav Chadha appeals for Shri Nankana Sahib corridor for Indian devotees to union government

NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha made a heartfelt appeal to the Union Government, urging them to initiate talks with the Pakistan Government to establish a safe corridor to Shri Nankana Sahib, the sacred birthplace of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, located in the Punjab province of Pakistan.

1. Diplomatic Efforts:

Chadha urged the Indian government to employ diplomatic channels to establish the corridor, akin to the successful establishment of the Shri Kartarpur Corridor. He emphasized that both governments should collaborate on this initiative.

2. Ease of Access:

He called for the elimination of mandatory requirements such as passports, visas, and cumbersome forms for devotees. Additionally, he advocated for no fees to be charged from the devotees.

3. Safe Road Passage:

Chadha proposed the creation of a safe road passage starting from Amritsar (Attari Wagah Border) to Shri Nankana Sahib in Pakistan. He noted that the distance of approximately 104 kilometers could be covered in about two to two and a half hours.

Highlighting the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who dedicated his life to spreading messages of peace, love, and brotherhood, Chadha emphasised the profound significance of this corridor for followers. Drawing a parallel to the Sri Kartarpur Sahib corridor, which has united people in faith, he expressed hope that this new corridor would fulfill the shared dreams and spiritual connections of devotees.

In the end he added, “If these demands are fulfilled, a great message of peace and brotherhood will be spread across the world, and the governments of both countries will receive immense blessings, the Punjab AAP government is ready to do whatever it can to support this initiative.”
