New Delhi: Radha Soami Satsang Beas (RSSB) announced on September 2 that Huzur Jasdeep Singh Ji Gill will succeed Gurinder Singh Dhillon as the new Patron of RSSB Societies. On the same day, RSSB clarified the details of its leadership change, which comes just before the Haryana elections.

According to an official notice by RSSB, there will be no formal “dastar bandi” (ceremonial appointment) or handing over of Gurugaddi (spiritual leadership). Gurinder Singh Dhillon will remain the Master-Guru of the Radha Soami Beas faith, while Huzur Jasdeep Singh Ji Gill will work closely with him, sharing leadership responsibilities.

RSSB has cleared that there is no need for the Sangat (congregation) to rush to Dera Beas, as no formal events or ceremonies are scheduled. The leadership transition is part of a planned succession strategy and will not disrupt regular satsangs or administrative procedures.

RSSB has passed a notice stating that Gurinder Singh Dhillon and Huzur Jasdeep Singh Ji Gill will continue to visit satsang centres together, ensuring a smooth transition and ongoing leadership.

Political experts highlight RSSB’s significant influence over a vast followership in Punjab, Haryana, HP, and UP, noting the increased attention from politicians with the upcoming elections in Haryana.

Huzur Jasdeep Singh Ji Gill, who stepped down as Chief Strategy Officer at Cipla Limited on May 31, 2024, brings extensive experience to his new role. His past roles include board observer positions at Ethris and Achira Labs Private Limited, a board membership at Wealthy Therapeutics, and executive assistant to the CEO at Ranbaxy.

He has also served as president and chairman at Cambridge University Entrepreneurs and holds a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Cambridge, along with degrees from MIT and IIT Delhi.

RSSB is a non-profit organization, was established in India in 1891 and gradually began spreading to other countries. Today RSSB holds meetings in more than 90 countries worldwide.
