Purvanchal Flies After PM Lands On Road By Air, CM Yogi Jet-Starts 2022

SULTANPUR (UTTAR PRADESH): It was an unusual Tuesday in this part of Uttar Pradesh. The skies were abuzz with the aircraft drill being carried out by the Indian Air force, its might at its best display. On the ground, thousands of villagers gathered on the rooftops and in the fields to watch the air show.

The 341-km expressway, constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 22,500 crore, has triggered a slugfest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party (SP), which claims the project first began during its tenure.

The ambitious 341-km Purvanchal expressway that starts from Chandsarai village on the Lucknow-Sultanpur highway and passes through Barabanki, Amethi, Sultanpur, Faizabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau before it ends at Haldaria village in Ghazipur district.

The six-lane expressway has a total of eight fuel stations (one in each Wayside Amenities), along with four CNG stations that are also being set up simultaneously. 4.50 lakh trees have been scheduled to be planted along the Right of Way (ROW) across the Expressway. Rain Water Harvesting pits have to be constructed as required by geological conditions in the ROW at every 500 m.

With the way PM Narendra Modi alighted out of C-130J Super Hercules on this 3.2 km stretch in Sultanpur, BJP sent out a clear signal that this 341 km expressway, the longest so far, will be used as a symbol of protection for India’s borders. And, with UP CM Yogi Adityanath joining the stage, The central government made it clear that this project will be used as a symbol of infrastructure and development as much as its thrust on the religious site of Ram temple in Ayodhya next door.

Adityanath, addressing the spectators said,

“This expressway is a lifeline to East Uttar Pradesh. It not only will increase connectivity but will also be a way to generate employment among the residents of Purvanchal that was comparatively lacking before.”

Launching an attack on the previous SP government, PM Modi said that there was a time when the eastern region of Uttar Pradesh had been taken over by “mafiawaad” and poverty, but now the BJP government is writing a new chapter of development. “The present government in Uttar Pradesh is paying equal attention to the eastern region as well as the western part of the state.”
