New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, raising serious concerns about the stateโs deteriorating law and order situation following two high-profile attacks within 24 hours.
In his letter, Randhawa referenced the RPG attack on Kila Lal Singh police station in Batala district and the assault on former Punjab BJP president Manoranjan Kalia in Jalandhar. The Congress leader alleged a โtotal failure of intelligence and political willโ to address security challenges.

While criticizing the AAP governmentโs handling of the situation, Randhawa warned that the current scenario resembles Punjabโs troubled past when political leaders were targeted. He urged the Home Minister to intervene and strengthen security measures in the state.
No official response has yet been received from either the Punjab government or the Home Ministry regarding the letter. Security agencies have intensified investigations into both incidents.
The developments come amid heightened political tensions in Punjab, with opposition parties stepping up pressure on the state government over law and order issues.
