NEW DELHI: Industrialists in Patiala lauded the Punjab government for creating an investor-friendly environment, citing the “Sarkar Vyapar Milni” initiative as a game-changer. Debnath Guha from Hindustan Unilever Limited expressed satisfaction, emphasising the positive outcome of a high-level meeting on tomato paste. Guha urged the government to procure high-quality tomatoes locally, underlining the potential benefits for his Kisan Ketchup Factory in Nabha. Chandradeep Nasra from Tripri Market highlighted the convenience brought about by the government’s online accessibility, eliminating the need for long queues and curbing corruption. The shift to online services has streamlined processes, making tasks more efficient for the public.

Satinder Saini of the Arhtiya Association in Anaj Mandi praised the Mann government for its accessibility, contrasting it with previous administrations. He commended the reforms in crop procurement, emphasising improved efficiency in produce lifting, prompt payments, and resolution of issues such as gunny bag shortages.
Sikander Veer Jindal from the Bhatta association commended the government for fulfilling promises and initiating positive policy changes. Jindal noted the expansion of land limits for brick-making, a move benefiting the kiln industry, and called for a reduction in the 12% GST on certain goods.
Gurdeep Singh Walia of the Hotel Association raised concerns about heavy traffic on Patiala Sirhind Road, urging the government to find a solution to prevent road accidents, particularly in areas connecting various cities.

Ashwani Garg from the Patiala Industrial Estate Welfare Society appreciated the government’s prompt decision-making and requested the construction of a power supply grid to address industrial needs.
Harminder Singh Khurana from the Patiala Chamber of Industry emphasised the need for completing the pending parks in the Focal Point area since 1990. He called for improved infrastructure, including street lights to ensure safety, and a redesign of the focal point’s entry to alleviate heavy traffic congestion.
