Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday met Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after his trip to Germany on Monday. The meeting was held at Delhi CM’s residence for at least an hour.

Mann was on a six-day trip to Germany, starting from September 11, with an aim to attract investments and strategic tie-ups in various business sectors for the state of Punjab.

The meeting came close on the heels of the row over the Chandigarh university video leak case in which several women students were filmed while taking bath by a female hosteller. Mann had ordered a probe into the incident. The college students held a protest in Mohali for the second day in a row despite an ongoing investigation into the case.

Sources told The New Indian that both the leaders discussed the issue of Chandigarh university and Operation Lotus allegedly run by the BJP. The leaders also discussed AAP’s Janpratinidhi Sammelan which was held at Indira Gandhi Indore Stadium in the national capital on Sunday.

The party leaders had addressed thousands of their supporters and party workers who came from 20 states. Mann addressed the workers through video conferencing from Germany.

During the address, Kejriwal said: “Today, AAP is a robust countrywide organization with 1,446 elected representatives across 20 states and UTs. I call upon all AAP volunteers to join our Make India No. 1 mission and make citizens all over India join us by giving a missed call on 9510001000.”

“We grew up learning about Lord Krishna, who killed evil at a nascent age. Today, the 10-year-old Aam Aadmi Party is killing the evils of unemployment, corruption, and inflation,” he said.

Launching a scathing attack on the BJP and other parties, he said no development work has happened in 75 years. “These parties didn’t do anything good for the last 70-75 years. Today, the common man of the country is accepting AAP with open arms because of our work,” said Kejriwal.

Kejriwal further said the BJP is trying very hard to crush the rise of his party, which is why his leaders are being arrested. “After Satyendar Jain and Amanatullah Khan, these people will put more of our MLAs in jail.”
