CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday allocated portfolios to newly-appointed ministers while keeping the Home department with himself.
The chief minister, who took the oath of office on March 16, has given the Finance portfolio to Harpal Cheema, Education to Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, and the Health department to Dr Vijay Singhla.
Harjot Bains will be Law and Tourism minister, Dr Baljit Kaur will handle Social Security, Women and Child Development departments while Harbhajan Singh will be the Power minister.
Lal Chand will handle the Food and Supply Department while Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal will be minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
Lal Singh Bhullar will take over as Transport Minister and Bram Shankar will handle the Water and Disaster Management Department.
The ten AAP legislators were sworn-in as state ministers on Saturday, nine days after the party stormed to power winning 92 out of 117 seats in the state legislative assembly.
