Rajasthan: Tempo Driver’s Daughter Gears Up To Become The First Doctor In Her Village

KOTA: This city of Rajasthan is known as the ‘coaching capital of India’ for refining young students into engineers and doctors. Students who have come out of Kota are known to crack the top exams and have been selected in top institutes of the country. One among those students is now going to be a doctor.

After scoring more than 90 per cent in class 12, Nazia enrolled herself at Allen Career Institute. Nazia secured 668 marks in the NEET entrance exam conducted by NTA. She secured AIR 1759 and 477 rank in OBC category.

Counselling after the entrance exam is under process and soon she will be enrolled in a government medical college.

Nazia recalls her struggle as challenging as no other member of the family is completely educated except for her.

Her teachers also supported her as she was a bright student. Previously, she fell short just by four marks and did not get admission in any college but she did not lose hope as she got 602 marks. This year she outperformed herself and got 668 marks.

Cycled 5 Kms To School Everyday

Nazia’s father Isamuddin is a tempo driver in Bhawani mandi and is the sole breadwinner of the family. Due to weak financial condition of the family, her mother Amina Bi was forced to work in a field. Her younger sister has just cleared Class XII exams and brother is in Class X. Nazia studied in a village school till Class 7 and shifted to Bhawani mandi government school in the 9th  standard. She used to travel 5 kms to school by bicycle daily provided by state government.

Nazia tells that she wants to pursue MBBS seriously and wants to establish herself as a Gynecologist. Nazia is also interested in teaching. As the counselling session gets underway, she spends her time by regularly visiting local government school and teaching small children there.

Allen Career Institute, where she was coached, also gave 75% discount after seeing her family economical condition.
