NEW DELHI: Pro Panja League Mega Matches brought intense action to Badwani, Madhya Pradesh, on March 27. The event took place on the holy banks of the Narmada River, drawing fans and top ArmWrestlers.

 

Co-organized with Manoj Patel of the Barwani District Association, the tournament featured five competitive categories.

Star-Studded Opening Ceremony

 

MLA Rajendra Mandloi inaugurated the event. Chief guest Shephali Tiwari, Central Jail Superintendent of Narsinghpur, was present.

 

Pro Panja League Co-Founder Parvinn Dabass and PAFI President Preeti Jhangiani also attended.

Before the matches, a traditional ‘puja’ was performed, seeking blessings for the event’s success.

 

Thrilling Matches and Results

 

The 60kg match saw Sachin Tomar dominate Shoaib Akhthar 3-0.

 

In 65+kg, Asha Kumar secured a narrow 3-2 win over Kritika Bamel.

 

The 100+kg category had Manish Kumar defeating Sunil Anthony 3-2.

 

Devendra Yadav claimed a commanding 3-0 victory over Manoj Patel in the specially-abled category.

 

In the 75kg bout, multiple-time champion Jogendra Yadav crushed Divakar Jadon 3-0.

 

Taking ArmWrestling to New Heights

 

Parvinn Dabass expressed excitement about the event’s success.

 

“Bringing Pro Panja League to the sacred Narmada River was an incredible experience. We are growing the sport while showcasing India’s rich culture. Fans also get to explore unique locations.”

 

Preeti Jhangiani, Vice-President of the Asian ArmWrestling Federation, highlighted the sport’s growing popularity.

 

“We have seen a huge rise in professional ArmWrestlers and fans. These tournaments help discover new talent and promote the sport nationwide.”
