The Change of Guard Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan is a prestigious military tradition that symbolizes the formal transfer of responsibility between the old and new guard protecting the President of India.

The ceremony showcases the discipline, precision, and dedication of the Indian Armed Forces, particularly the Presidentโ€™s Bodyguard (PBG)โ€”the countryโ€™s oldest surviving cavalry unit, established in 1773.

 

Commencing February 22, the ceremony will be accessible to a larger audience every Saturday at 8 AM, excluding gazetted holidays. Visitors can anticipate an elaborate display featuring military drills by the PBG troops and horses, the Ceremonial Guard Battalion, and performances by the Ceremonial Military Brass Band.

Registration Details

To manage the increased capacity and ensure a comfortable experience for all attendees, a nominal registration fee of โ‚น50 per visitor has been introduced, effective from February 22, 2025.

Prospective visitors are required to register online, with the fee being non-refundable and non-transferable.
