President Kovind Receives Credentials From Ambassadors of Slovakia, Sudan and Nepal

President Ram Nath Kovind receives the credentials from Ambassador of Nepal Dr Shankar Prasad Sharma, Ambassador of Slovakia Robert Maxian, and Ambassador of Sudan Abdalla Omer Bashir Elhusain at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday.

NEW DELHI: President Ram Nath Kovind accepted the credentials from Ambassador of Slovakia Robert Maxian, Ambassador of Sudan Abdalla Omer Bashir Elhusain and Ambassador of Nepal Dr Shankar Prasad Sharma at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday.

“After the presentation of credentials, the President interacted with the three envoys separately. He congratulated them on their appointments. The President also emphasized on the warm and friendly relations that India shared with the countries and the multifaceted relationship that India enjoyed with each of them,” the Ministry of External Affairs stated in a statement.

“The President also wished them success in the strengthening of bilateral ties and for their well-being and progress and prosperity of the friendly people,” the statement added.

Nepal’s newly appointed envoy Dr Shankar Prasad Sharma earlier served as Nepal’s US Ambassador. Dr Sharma also served as Deputy Chairman at the National Planning Commission in Nepal and Chief Advisor in the Ministry of Finance. He also taught at the Centre for Economic Development and Administration, Tribhuvan University.

Slovakia extended support in India’s massive evacuation mission Operation Ganga in March. Union law minister Kiren Rijiju flew to Slovakia to bring back stranded students from Ukraine. The central European state has several agreements with India including MoU on Defence Cooperation, Air Services Agreement and Protocol for Agreement on Cooperation in Science & Technology.

Indian companies like ONGC Videsh Ltd, BHEL, TCIL, Progressive Construction Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Tata Motors have a significant presence in Sudan.

Sudan and India have agreements in the areas of air services, agriculture, trade, science and technology, media, culture, consultations, business, small industries and legal matters.
