Politicians, Bollywood stars attend AAP MP Raghav Chadha’s engagement with actress Parineeti Chopra
NEW DELHI: The engagement ceremony of young Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Member of Parliament Raghav Chadha with actress Parineeti Chopra was a heady mix of power and glamour.
The celebration took place at Kapurthala House in New Delhi in the presence of around 150 guests, including the family members of both Chadha and Chopra.
Politicians, including three Chief ministers, across the political divide attended the ceremony. Delhi CM and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann and Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma, along with leaders from the AAP, Congress, Shiv Sena and Trinamool Congress (TMC), attended the function.
Congress leaders P Chidambaram, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Rajeev Shukla, who came with his wife Anuradha Prasad, former Congress leader Kapil Sibal, and TMC MP Derek O’Brien blessed the couple at the ceremony on Saturday.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders Aditya Thackeray and Priyanka Chaturvedi, who are good friends of Chadha, also attended the ceremony.
Several AAP leaders, including Sanjay Singh, who came with his wife, Sanjeev Arora, Ashok Mittal and VK Sahni, also attended the ceremony.
Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who is also a cousin of Chopra, was undoubtedly the star attraction of the ceremony. Bollywood’s favourite designer, Manish Malhotra, and singer Mika Singh were among the guests. Mika also enthralled the audience with a song.
Jatthedaar of Akal Takht, Giani Harpreet Singh, also attended the ceremony and gave a blessing to the couple.
