NEW DELHI: Dhiraj Saxena, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Poonawalla Fincorp Limited, has resigned from his position, alleging harassment and undue interference by the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO). The resignation was originally submitted in September, but was made public through a regulatory filing on December 6.

In a resignation letter addressed to the Managing Director and CEO of Poonawalla Fincorp, Saxena outlined his grievances, stating that the CHRO’s “unnecessary interventions” hindered his ability to manage the IT function effectively. He writes “I hereby resign from the post of Chief Technology Officer due to harassment & un-necessary interventions of CHRO which is impacting me in managing the IT function effectively and efficiently This is creating major unrest in the team there by impacting the IT delivery. I have tried my best to collaborate, but it seems it is not the intention of the other side.” Saxena wrote in his letter.

Despite his efforts to collaborate, Saxena wrote that he felt the other side lacked the intention to resolve the issues. His resignation marks a significant leadership departure for the organization, raising questions about internal dynamics and the company’s HR policies.

Saxena’s letter concluded with a request for a formal relief as per the HR policy and expressed good wishes for the company’s future.

The resignation of a senior executive like the CTO under such circumstances could signal deeper organizational challenges. Poonawalla Fincorp, known for its innovation and growth in the financial sector, might face scrutiny over its workplace culture and conflict resolution mechanisms.

The company’s regulatory filing confirmed Saxena’s cessation of duties and detailed adherence to SEBI guidelines regarding disclosure requirements. Poonawalla Fincorp is yet to release an official statement regarding the resignation or the allegations made.
