Almost two weeks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the third Vande Bharat Express between Gujarat’s Gandhinagar and Mumbai, the Indian Railways is all set to run another indigenously built semi-high-speed train between Delhi and the poll-bound Himachal Pradesh.
According to railway ministry officials, the fourth Vande Bharat Express will run between Delhi and Amb Andaura in Himachal Pradesh. The train will be flagged off by PM Modi on Thursday, during his visit to the state.
An official, wishing not to be named, said that the train will have 16 coaches. It will depart from New Delhi and cover cities like Ambala Cantt, Chandigarh, and Una before reaching Amb Andaura.
The official said that the train will depart from New Delhi at 5.50 am and reach Ambala Cantt at 8 am. It will reach Chandigarh at 8.40 am, and Una at 10.34 am. It will finally reach Amb Andaura at 11.05 a.m.
The train will return from Amb Andaura at 1 pm and reach Una at 1.21 pm before reaching Chandigarh at 3.25 pm and Ambala Cantt at 4.13 pm. The train will finally reach Delhi at 6.25 pm.
While the commencement date of regular service is yet to be decided, it will run on all days except Wednesdays.
The first Vande Bharat Express was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 15, 2019, between Delhi and his Parliamentary constituency of Varanasi.
The second Vande Bharat was launched between Delhi and Jammu’s Katra in October 2019. Katra is a town that is situated in the foothills of the Trikurta Mountains, where the holy shrine of Vaishno Devi is located.
The third Vande Bharat Express was flagged by the Prime Minister on September 30 this year between Gandhinagar and Mumbai – two cities important in terms of financial aspects.
