NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday virtually inaugurated Bosch India’s first smart campus in Bengaluru. The campus was built at a cost of Rs 800 crore. PM Modi also congratulated Bosch India for completing 100 years of its presence in the country.

“This campus will take lead in developing futuristic products and solutions for India and for the world. I urge Bosch to think of doing more in India and set goals for the next 25 years,” PM Modi said.

“It is a special year for both India and Bosch India, as the nation celebrates 75 years of Independence and Bosch celebrates a century of its presence in India. Hundred years ago, Bosch came to India as a German company and now it is as much Indian as German. This is a great example of German engineering and Indian energy,” he added.

The 76-acre site features multiple smart solutions based on sustainability, security, and user experience for associates, visitors, and facility management.

The PM also recalled his visit to the Bosch facility back in October 2015 with former German chancellor Angela Merkel.

Calling the present times an era of technology and underlining the benefits of technology as demonstrated during the time of the pandemic, PM Modi said that it is important to invest even further in tech and innovation. “India’s growth is becoming greener with the installed capacity of solar energy increasing nearly 20 times in the last 8 years,” PM Modi added.

Lauding Bosch’s achievement of achieving carbon-neutrality both domestically as well as internationally, PM said that India is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. India has also attracted many domestic and foreign investors thus, increasing the investments in the last two years.

PM Modi also thanked the youth of the nation for developing the Start-up ecosystem which is now among the biggest in the world. The Indian government is also working to provide a high-speed internet connection to every village. “Our vision of a Digital India includes integrating technology with every aspect of Government. I would urge the world to make use of these opportunities and invest in our nation”, he added.
