SRINAGAR: In a landmark move to enhance travel between the national capital and the Kashmir Valley, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil five new train services in January, significantly improving connectivity and convenience for passengers.
These trains, designed with state-of-the-art facilities, including advanced heating systems, will ensure a comfortable journey even during the region’s harsh winters, officials said.
The Prime Minister is set to virtually inaugurate the Jammu Railway Division from New Delhi on January 6, marking a key milestone in expanding railway infrastructure in the northern region.

Railway authorities have stated that these new services are equipped with cutting-edge technology to tackle extreme weather challenges such as snow and sub-zero temperatures. The addition of heating systems in the train coaches is a pioneering step by Indian Railways to prioritize passenger comfort on colder routes.
Details on schedules stops, and ticket bookings are expected to be announced soon by the Railway Ministry.
