PM Modi Reviews India’s Security Preparedness, Directs To Bring Back Mortal Remains Of Naveen Who Was Killed In Ukraine

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high level meeting of the Cabinet Committe on Security (CCS) on Sunday to review India’s security preparedness, and the prevailing global scenario in the context of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Prime Minister Modi instructed the attending members that all possible efforts should be taken to bring back the mortal remains of Naveen Shekharappa, the Indian student died in Kharkiv during conflit.

In the closed door meetingPM Modi was briefed on latest developments and different aspects of India’s security preparedness in the border areas as well as in the maritime and air domain, said an official statement.

During the meeting, the PM was also briefed on the latest developments in Ukraine, including the details of Operation Ganga to evacuate Indian nationals, along with some citizens of India’s neighbouring countries, from Ukraine.

PM Modi had spoken with Ukrianian President Zelenskyy and Russian President Putin seperately on  multiple occasions to resolve the conflict via dialogue and diplomacy. Maintaining a close watch on the developments in Ukriane crisis, PM Modi held telephonic discussions seperately with the Prime Ministers of the neighbouring countries of besieged Ukriane including Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary and Prime Minister Mark Rutte of Netherlands .
