NEW DELHI: During the last leg of his US visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held meetings with top business leaders like Google boss Sundar Pichai, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, and Boeing chief David L Calhoun in Washington DC.
Additionally, PM Modi also addressed a gathering of 1000 leading professionals representing diverse fields. During his address, the Prime Minister emphasized the profound transformation underway in India and the significant progress made across various sectors. Urging the professionals to seize the moment, he extended an invitation to forge partnerships with India.
During his meeting with Pichai, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Google parent Alphabet Inc, PM Modi invited him to explore avenues of collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI), fintech, cybersecurity products and services, as well as mobile device manufacturing in India.

Pichai expressed excitement about Google’s announcement to open a global fintech operation center in GIFT City, Gujarat. He also said that Google is investing $10 billion in the India Digitization Fund and planning to expand the availability of its products in more Indian languages. He praised the PM’s vision for Digital India, noting that it has become a blueprint for other countries.
Prime Minister Modi also met with e-commerce giant Amazon president and CEO Andrew R Jassy to discuss e-commerce and explore potential collaborations in India’s logistics sector. He welcomed Amazon’s initiatives to promote digitization of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in India. Jassy expressed Amazon’s keen interest in creating more jobs, driving the digitization of businesses, and supporting Indian companies’ global export. He highlighted Amazon’s significant investment of $11 billion in India, with plans to invest an additional $15 billion, bringing the total to $26 billion.

During his meeting with aerospace major Boeing chief Calhoun, PM Modi discussed opportunities for Boeing to expand its presence in India’s aviation sector, particularly in maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations for aircraft. He also extended an invitation for Boeing to invest in the space manufacturing sector in India.
Later, he delivered a speech at the John F Kennedy Centre in Washington DC at an event organized by the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF). US secretary of state Antony Blinken was also in attendance.

PM Modi also interacted with members of the Indian community at the Ronald Reagan Centre in Washington. He began his address by congratulating the Indian community for their accomplishments in various fields in the USA and encouraged them to contribute to India’s growth during the Amrit Kaal. He expressed gratitude for their significant role in strengthening India-USA ties and highlighted potential areas of future bilateral partnership.
