NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his heartfelt sentiments on Thursday as the Maha Kumbh concluded in Prayagraj, describing it as the end of a โ€œMaha Yagya of unity.โ€

 

Reflecting on the event, he noted that over the past 45 days, he witnessed an overwhelming display of devotion, with millions of devotees taking holy dips, filled with enthusiasm, energy, and faith.

 

In his full blog note, shared on X as well, PM Modi remarked, โ€œThe conclusion of the Maha Kumbh marks the end of a historic gathering that has shown the world the power of unity.โ€

 

 

He emphasized that the event had become a subject of study for modern management professionals and policy experts.

 

According to him, no other event in the world compares to the scale of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.

 

The Prime Minister shared his memories of the devoteesโ€™ joy after their sacred bath, mentioning how people from all walks of lifeโ€”young, old, women, and even the disabledโ€”made their way to the Sangam, showcasing the inclusive spirit of the gathering.

 

He also expressed his pride in seeing the participation of Indiaโ€™s youth, reinforcing the message that they are the torchbearers of the countryโ€™s values and culture.

 

Modi highlighted the record-breaking number of attendees, noting that even those unable to attend in person felt emotionally connected to the event, further underlining the eventโ€™s national significance.

 

The PM underscored the importance of this Maha Kumbh as a pivotal moment in Indiaโ€™s development journey, aligning it with the countryโ€™s historic spiritual traditions.

 

He pointed out that the unity displayed during the event symbolizes the collective determination for a developed India.

 

Modi also drew parallels with the teachings of saints and freedom fighters like Swami Vivekananda, Sri Aurobindo, and Mahatma Gandhi, stressing the importance of channeling Indiaโ€™s spiritual energy towards the nationโ€™s progress.

 

As the event concluded, the Prime Minister acknowledged the efforts of the administration, security forces, sanitation workers, and the people of Prayagraj for making the Maha Kumbh a success.

 

He also expressed his gratitude to the citizens of Uttar Pradesh and noted that the sense of unity, much like the endless flow of the Ganges, would continue long after the event.
