PM Modi breaks silence: War like efforts on NEET issue

Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the Parliament spoke on the NEET paper leaks issue for the very first time. He said that the Government is making war-like efforts.
PM Modi said, “I will tell every student of the country, every youth of the country that the government is very serious about preventing such incidents and we are taking one step after another to fulfill our responsibilities on a war footing.”

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the Parliament spoke on the NEET paper leaks issue for the very first time. He said that the Government is making war-like efforts.
PM Modi said, “I will tell every student of the country, every youth of the country that the government is very serious about preventing such incidents and we are taking one step after another to fulfill our responsibilities on a war footing.”

Highlighting the legal actions that have been taken so far, PM Modi said, “Those who play with the future of the youth will not be spared at all. Arrests are being made continuously across the country in the NEET case. The central government has already made a strict law. Necessary steps are being taken to strengthen the entire system of conducting the examination.”

Earlier on June 27, while addressing the Joint Parliament session President Droupadi Murmu also spoke on the NEET controversy and said, “The government is committed to a fair investigation” and also vowed strict punishment for the culprit.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently investigating the medical exam NEET paper leak case. It has arrested five people, three from Jharkhand and two from Bihar. Two people from Jharkhand were Principal and Vice-principal of the Oasis school who were also the coordinator and Centre coordinator of National Test Agency (NTA).

 

The CBI took over the case from Bihar police on June 22. Bihar police had also arrested seven people from Bihar including a NEET aspirant who confessed to getting the paper a day before the exam through his uncle. His uncle was in further contact with the solver gang. Two people from the solver gang were also arrested by the Bihar Police. A journalist from Bihar was also arrested who was helping the accused in the paper leak.
