NEW DELHI: A day after the Special Court in Mumbai sent Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut to four days of Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody, the financial probe agency on Tuesday carried out searches at two more locations in connection with the Patra Chawl case.

An ED source said that ED raids at two locations in Mumbai linked to Sanjay Raut’s close aides. The source, however, refused to share the names of the person on whose premises searches are being carried out.

The fresh searches came a day after Raut was sent to four-day ED custody till August 4 in connection with the alleged money laundering probe involving the Patra Chawl land scam case.

Raut was arrested on Sunday after searches at his two houses in Mumbai following several hours of questioning.

The source further said that one of the two teams has just returned back to the ED office after the raid and they have brought an envelope with documents.

Earlier, the ED had attached property worth ₹9 crores related to Sanjay Raut’s ‘aide’ Pravin Raut and assets, worth around ₹2 crores, belonging to Sanjay Raut’s wife Varsha in the ₹1,034-crore Patra Chawl land scam case.

The financial probe agency had filed a charge sheet in a money laundering case against Pravin Raut.
