NEW DELHI: Lucknow resident Sagar Sharma, who was recently arrested for a security breach in the Lok Sabha, left behind a diary providing a glimpse into his revolutionary fervour. The diary, which he started writing in 2015, details patriotic poems, revolutionary thoughts, and his disenchantment with the status quo.

The family, confirming the diary’s authenticity, has offered it to aid the investigation into the Parliament breach. Sagar’s arrest raised questions about security protocols in the Lok Sabha.
Sharma, recently apprehended for breaching Lok Sabha security, had been maintaining a diary since 2015, offering a profound insight into his revolutionary spirit and disenchantment with the prevailing circumstances.
The diary entries, ranging from patriotic poems to reflections on revolution, portray Sharma’s commitment to the country. A notable passage from 2021 reveals his inner conflict—expressing the “fire raging in his mind,” the “determination to do something,” and the dilemma of informing his parents about his decision to “leave home.”
Family sources confirmed that Sagar initiated diary entries after completing his senior secondary education and resumed writing in January 2021 after returning from Bengaluru, where he was allegedly in contact with like-minded youth.

Among the entries, a 2015 note referred to a letter to Bhagat Singh, addressing him as ‘My Lord and My God.’ The diary alludes to Sagar’s dedication to the nation and his resolve to contribute to the freedom struggle.
Sagar Sharma’s family, acknowledging the diary’s existence, has offered it to the police to assist in the investigation of the Lok Sabha security breach. The breach involved Sagar scaling benches, approaching the speaker’s table, and releasing yellow smoke.
